We Overcome All Challenges and Are Ready to Continue Working
As you may already know, our delivery service Aquiline recently has faced denial of service from eBay. We were accused of exploiting a vulnerability in the eBay system and not being a legitimate delivery service. We understand that this situation has caused concern among our users, and we want to provide comments on this.
Few years ago we introduced an API that allowed sellers to integrate with eBay using our carrier service. However we did not test it properly before release, as we had just a few engineers responsible for the entire development. For the whole life of this API we had not got many concerns directed to us. More than that we had seen orders from sellers who integrated with us. Thus, we had decided that everything works fine.
However, thanks to eBay highlights we have discovered some concerns about our service on various internet platforms including eBay community forum.
One of our primary values at Aquiline is service quality and we do our best for that. Because of that we have investigated the problem closely and discovered lots of back doors in our API that allowed users to use it in a form we do not endorse. Sadly at this moment we have not found a technical possibility to find out all exact clients who used these vulnerabilities. The only way we found out is to search the internet and look for any mention of that. The research was fruitful. One of our clients who posted articles on how to bypass eBay policies using Aquiline was AutoDS. Because of that we instantly terminate all relationships with AutoDS.
Yet, we had not found a fully reliable way to find all such clients. So, to prevent further abuse of our service and harm to eBay service, we had decided to temporarily close access to our API. This decision was not easy but a necessary step to protect our platform and ensure honesty and transparency in working with clients. This action should not affect the delivery process of those items that are already in delivery or the ability to receive information about your packages.
